Day of the Morris Minor – Escape to the Country!
2 November 2014

Every two years The Victorian Morris Minor Car Club hosts – ‘The Day of the Morris Minor’ (DOMM).

This year the DOMM was held at the world famous ‘Morris Minor Garage’, located at North Harcourt, Central Victoria.

For the classic cars and their owners it was the perfect Sunday drive for an ‘Escape to the country’.
The granite hills of Harcourt provided a leisurely drive through the Apple centre of Victoria to the event.

This was a very fitting venue to hold such an event, as there is nowhere else in Australia where you can see so many restored and rare Morris Minors, including a Morris Minor Million, a Morris Minor Police car (Scotland Yard) and a Morris Minor Royal Mail Van. There are also many other Morris and classic cars dating from 1925 in the museum. For more details regarding the Morris Minor Garage go to www.morrisminorgarage.com

Over 400 people attended the day, which was officially opened by Mr Phil Smith, a representative from the Morris Minor Owners Club and the Registrar for the Minor Million Register in the UK.

Over 80 Morris Minors and many other Classic Cars were on display.
Adding to the show and shine day, were local produce craft & market stalls, including Henrys of Harcourt Cider, Bryden Manor Conserves, the Garage Café and Windrush Park Olive Oil.

The famous iconic Thompsons Foundry Brass Band of Castlemaine provided musical entertainment.

The trophies were sponsored by BMC Experience Magazine, Minor Magic and Morris Minor Garage, as well as various members of the Morris Minor Car Club.

The weather was on the cool side – but it did not hamper the fun and excitement of the day.
